Biography

Jon Schwab's educational background includes a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Illinois College in Jacksonville, and M.A. in Communications from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Jon began his career in 2001 doing agency work in graphic design and video post-production. In 2003, he continued sharpening his design skills by writing, shooting and editing 30-second spots and long-format video production for Insight Media in Springfield, Illinois.

In 2003, he also co-produced and edited Alternate Tunings, a weekly thirty-minute program highlighting local musical performances on WCFN in Central Illinois. In 2005, the show was reborn online as Banddot.com, where Jon co-produced and edited full-length concerts for major label artists like Local H and the Supersuckers.

In 2007, Jon left Insight to found Ancillary Factory, specializing in print and web design for small businesses in Central Illinois, creating unique identities for dozens of clients.

Jon's web expertise includes design and development for open-source content management systems such as Drupal and Wordpress. He also enjoys playing cheap guitars and runs Rifflet.com, an online place to share unfinished song ideas, which was recently mentioned in Wired magazine, a fact he repeatedly tells anyone within earshot.
